Joi James

Joi James is a recording artist, multi-disciplinary musician, composer, producer, and educator whose musical journey began at the age of six. Classically trained in piano and voice, she refined her craft through collegiate music studies and advanced instruction, cultivating a musical voice rooted in technical excellence, soulful expression, and artistic versatility.

An accomplished performer, Joi has appeared with choirs, vocal ensembles, jazz groups, and as both a pianist and percussionist. Her diverse repertoire spans classical, jazz, gospel, folk, R&B, and contemporary music, creating a sound that is both sophisticated and deeply authentic. In addition to performing, she has written, arranged, and produced original music for herself and collaborating artists.

Committed to lifelong artistic growth, Joi is currently continuing her studies in music composition while writing and producing her debut full-length album, As Told by Love. The forthcoming project represents a defining chapter in her artistic journey, weaving together decades of musical study, lived experience, and heartfelt storytelling into a body of work that celebrates love, resilience, faith, and human connection.
